(View Week 1)
It’s been a great 1st week with my awesome fam bam! I missed them so much :)
About 2 weeks ago, the kiddos and I tagged along on daddy’s business trip. I know I’m far due from this post but things have been pretty busy around here lately and I’m going to try my best not to let this much time pass by next time. :) We headed to King of Prussia, PA on Wednesday evening and spent Thursday and half of Friday there. We couldn’t do much on Thursday due to unexpected rain and ruined our Zoo trip plans. So, the kiddos and I spent the day indoors. We ate at Joe’s Crab Shack and then went to the movies to see The Croods. Such a cute movie, and like any animated kids movie, it had me balling my eyes out in the end. :P By the time we did all that, daddy was done with his meetings and then we headed out for dinner at the mall.
On Friday, the weather seemed to clear a bit and we headed to Elmwood Park Zoo. The great thing about going alone with two kiddos is that we were able to see all of the animals and have extra play time just in time for daddy to get done with his business meetings around noonish.
After picking up daddy, we decided to head to New York! It was my very first time going to NYC and I was beyond excited! & Like any super duper excited tourist, I took tons of pictures. I had to go through them and only pick my favorites or else this post would cover up my home page (hehe).
We went to Times Square on Friday night and spent the evening walking around. We ate our first slice of New York Pizza and enjoyed a nice vanilla ice cream cone from Mister Softee, which was very delicious by the way. We headed back to the hotel a bit early because we wanted to make the most of our Saturday.
We woke up bright and early on Saturday, ate some delicious breakfast and headed back to Times Square. Daddy was our tour guide for the weekend, wherever he took us we followed. I had no idea where I was going, I was just enjoying being in NYC for the first time with my babies. From there, we took a cab to the American Museum of Natural History. This museum is amazingly HUGE & with four stories full of things to see and learn about, you’re sure not to get bored. We spent all morning there and then headed out to get lunch across the street in Central Park. The food truck food was delicious and I got a taste of my first NY hot dog.
We walked around Central Park for a good chuck of our afternoon and enjoyed the beautiful weather. After ending up on the other side of Central Park on 5th Ave, it was time for dinner! Yes, we walked that much! We headed to South Street Seaport and ate dinner on the pier.
Such a beautiful view of Brooklyn Bridge and city from the pier. We relaxed a while and by the time we knew it, it was almost 10p! We headed back to the hotel and crashed out! We were all tired from an eventful day.
On Sunday, Rob decided to take us to his home town, Bronx, NY, and give us a little tour of where he grew up. It was nice to experience a brief of his childhood and learn a little bit more about him. After eating a delicious lunch at Riverdale Diner, where Rob used to eat at growing up, we headed home. I was a bit sad to leave so soon, we still have A LOT more to explore in New York. But definitely gives us a great reason to go back. & In spite of what everyone says about New Yorkers, I found most of them to be pleasantly nice. There was a young man that stuck in my head because he gave my son & I his seat in the train. I thought that was very nice, people don’t do that too often nowadays. Here are some of my fav pics from our 4 day weekend getaway:
