Before my family & I headed out to my birthday dinner, I was looking through some old family photos & that sparked an idea. The photos brought back so many beautiful childhood memories when I used to make floral crowns with my Abuelita and wear them to the San Antonio Fiesta & Parades. I immediately felt inspired to create these floral crowns for both Lila & I to wear. It’s no secret that I LOVE Flowers! Here’s a quick tutorial on how you can DIY and get creative:
Materials needed: Floral wire, floral tape, pliers, & variety of craft or fresh flowers.
1.) Gather your materials. There are many different kinds of floral wire out there, I used the thin green one and wrapped it three times. & I used a variety of craft flowers and leaves I bought at my local Hobby Lobby.
2.) Measure the wire around your head and make sure it fits comfortably. Use the pliers to cut the wire. Then, wrap the floral tape around the wire and knot the ends to create a circle. I found that adding the tape BEFORE knotting the ends is easier.
3.) Wrap your flowers around the wire until you are content and wrap an extra layer of floral tape to secure the flowers.
4.) Admire your floral crown. :) I hope you guys enjoy making floral crowns as much as I do. Don’t forget to send me your pictures if you DIY. Now, to end this post with one of my favorite quotes:
“I’d rather wear flowers in my hair, than diamonds around my neck.”
